Posts about faith, suffering, and perseverance — finding the hope of Christ in a messy life.
Faith does not promise a life free from hardship, but it does promise a steady hand to hold in the darkest valleys. When the mess of daily life feels overwhelming, hope in Christ becomes an anchor that does not shift with our emotions. Suffering has a way of stripping away pretense and forcing us to look at what we truly believe. In those raw moments, faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting the One who holds every unknown tomorrow. It is in the breaking that we often find the truest glimpse of grace.
Perseverance is not simply gritting your teeth and pushing through. It is the quiet, daily decision to keep showing up before God even when your prayers feel empty and your heart feels heavy. The messy seasons of life, the ones filled with sleepless nights and unanswered questions, are often the very places where spiritual endurance is forged. God does not waste our pain; He uses it to shape a faith that can weather any storm. Each small step of obedience, even when we cannot see the outcome, builds a foundation that holds steady over a lifetime.
Comparison is one of the greatest thieves of peace, especially in the journey of motherhood and faith. It is easy to look at someone else's seemingly put-together life and feel like you are failing. But every person carries burdens that are invisible to the outside world. The hope of Christ frees us from the exhausting race of measuring up, because His love is not conditional on our performance. When we fix our eyes on what He has done rather than what we have not, we find a rest that allows us to breathe and simply be who we are meant to be.
Prayer is the lifeline that connects our messy reality to the throne of grace. It does not require eloquent words or perfect posture; it simply requires a heart that is honest about its need. In the middle of the night, when worries about children, health, or the unknown press in, prayer becomes a quiet refuge. God invites us to bring every fear and every failing into His presence, where mercy meets our most broken places. There is profound peace in laying down the weight of trying to control everything and trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it.

I've never witnessed someone cross through the thin veil which separates this life from the next. When I listen to others describe it, I'm always filled with awe. What was it like? Did angels lead the way into the Light which never fades? Was there hesitation or was it impossible to resist the pull toward home?
